Captain Mike
I know there are lots of fishing guides on the Oregon Coast. Captain Mike, Fish On Extreme, is the only fishing guide I will fish with when fishing the Astoria-Hammond basin, whether fishing in the ocean for Halibut or in the Columbia River for Sturgeon and Salmon. I first fished with Mike for sturgeon during a fishing tournament and was awed by the number and quality of sturgeon we landed. I also fished with Mike for Fall Chinook Salmon and again was awed by the number of Salmon that we landed. Mike really knows the fishery along with where and when to fish for what ever type of fish you are after.

We were lucky enough to go on a sturgeon fishing trip with Mike and it was a beautiful experience no doubt. From safety, to fun, to having success in reeling in a big "keeper" Mike was a phenomenal guide. He provided not only a fun experience, but a safe one. If the fish weren't biting he knew where the sun was shining and the water was calm for the down time. He knew where the secret fishing pockets were, knew the right time to hit each one and was certainly a pleasant guy to hang out with. His patience, focus and overall experience on the ocean is one I encourage everyone to get on the books!

Had a wonderful time on Mike's boat this summer for the wonderful king run in August.
My sister and brother in Law and their 2 kids were in Seattle from Chicago and everyone was greatly impressed and satisfied by the day's end.
Mike was well aware of the changing conditions and warned us all to be extra vigilant when the tide changed at 10am. Within 5 minutes we were on a nonstop fishing spree. As soon as we got the fish in the boat, Mike & his deckhand had all 6 rods back In the water with fresh bait. And usually within minutes we had another one on. It was a long hard battle to keep that pace but Mike and his deckhand performed spectacular.
Being able to stay on the fish when they are biting is crucial, and I was very impressed how professional yet fun and comfortable the trip turned out to be.
I am planning to book more trips with Mike including taking some business partners out for some well deserved good times.
